Kwasai, meaning "the favorite (wife)" in Zarma, was for better or for worse, my Nigerien name. It made first impressions pretty funny. My teachers loved to introduce me to Zarma folks because it inevitably resulted in 5 or so minutes of non-stop, unmitigated laughter.
